Welcome to Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Located in Westmoreland County the Scottdale Fire Department serves approxamitly 6,000 Scottdale residents. Our department provides automatic Mutual Aid for Mount Pleasant (Station 38), East Huntington Township (Station 74), Everson (Station 60), and Connelsville Township (Station 178).

We maintain three stations (one main station and two sub-stations) with three engine companies, one rescue company, one truck company, and a squad and air truck.

The Scottdale Fire Department also has a Dive and Water Rescue Team. We have over 40 certified divers that participate activly on our team. We respond to dive calls in Westmoreland, Fayette, Somerset, and Washington Counties. To move our equipment we have a 30 foot trailer that provides access to boats gear storage and a place to change.

Our department has three cheifs (1 cheif and 2 assistants) five captains, and three safety officers. We have 40active members and 30 life members.

In March of 2004 Scottdale and Connelsville Township fire departments formed a Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.), one of the first in the area, to help protect the firemen in our local communities.

On average we respond to 400 calls per year.
