Engine 58-1 ran it's last calls in 2008. As part of the grant to purchase the new ladder truck Engine 58-1 would have to be retired. While still running like new the truck lacked many safety features that made it unsafe for responders. Engine 58-1 still makes apperances at parades and car shows and is a crowd favorite.
